Shri Gopalakrishnan Sundararaman was General Manager & CFO of the Company since 28.07.2020. Thereafter he was elevated to the position of General Manager & Director w.e.f. 09.05.2023, in addition to his earlier position as CFO of the Company. On 15.03.2024 the position of General Manager & Director held by him was upgraded as Executive Director and on 16.03.2024 Shri Gopalakrishnan Sundararaman, Executive Director assumed additional charge as Chairman cum Managing Director of the Company. A Graduate in Commerce, Shri Sundararaman began his career with United India Insurance Company as Scale I officer in the year 1986 and has over three decades of professional experience in leadership roles. His expertise extends to all major areas of insurance, including Core Insurance Operations, Risk Assessment and Underwriting, Claim Management and Servicing, Retail Business Vertical, Corporate & Broker Vertical, Finance & Accounts, Digital & Business Process Transformation, Human Resources Management & Training, etc.

Shri Sundararaman is credited with bringing about a turnaround in the performance of various Regions he headed in the recent past. The company is in the process of transformation with a number of futuristic initiatives being introduced to emerge as a leading player in the insurance sector. Besides being a Director of Zenith Securities and Investment Limited (a subsidiary of United India Insurance), Shri Sundararaman is a Member on the Board of Education of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai and also a Member of the Council of Insurance Institute of India. He was also a Member in the Technical Board of FAIR Non-Life Reinsurance Pool, managed by Milli Re, Turkey.
